BACKGROUND:
Health
Essentials is a complete health center that promotes
natural living and wellness through a wide variety
of treatments, quality herbs, vitamins, and an abundant
amount of health information.
Melissa Clapper
had the opportunity to work in the traditional medical
field as an Emergency Medical Technician and Registered
Nurse for twelve years. She was continually bothered
by the almost epidemic amounts of diabetes, cancer,
heart disease, MS, etc. in her healthy
community. It did not take long to figure out that
the constant pill pushing and surgeries would have
been relatively easy to decrease with some major lifestyle
changes.
Health Essentials
was created after she received her acupuncture training.
It was at that point when she felt that it was important
to bring a relaxing, educational and beneficial alternative
to the traditional medical options that were available
in Eastern Colorado and Western Kansas. She also saw
a large need for quality organic foods and high quality
vitamin supplements. With this vision in mind, Health
Essentials was born.
Healing
the Body and Soul became her mission statement
as she developed her clinic. She has been blessed
with extremely talented healing practitioners and
knowledgeable staff which enables her clinic to offer
a huge variety of services and products to the community.
SITUATION:
When I met
with Melissa, she had grown her business to a level
where she was finally ready to create some focused
marketing efforts. She knew the importance of marketing,
yet was intimidated by the thought of handling her
own marketing.
She didnt
know where to start and knew that every move she would
make would cost money. She also knew that marketing
mistakes could become costly quickly. Being a small
business owner, she also faced the reality of wearing
a lot of hats and would need to continue to do so
in order to grow the business. That meant the time
she could spend on marketing was limited. So whatever
marketing solution she implemented needed to be easy.
SOLUTION:
When she saw
the toolkit, she was excited because she thumbed through
the books and realized how easy they were to read.
She also understood how valuable the information was.
She had never seen a solution that provided so much
education along with the tools to implement. Melissa
looked at this solution as a way for her to maintain
control without risking a lot of money in potential
mistakes. She felt it was a solution that would make
marketing her business easy, affordable and fun.
She went through
the program and has completed the following:
RESULTS:
After 6 months,
Melissa has seen a tremendous difference in her business,
both internally and externally. Internally she has
made several staffing changes. She now has a team
that is excited and enthused about the new direction
the business is taking. Each of the employees and
even the contractors are excited about the colors,
the brand and the entire marketing program that is
being implemented.
Externally,
Melissa has seen a significant increase in business.
Revenues are up three fold from last year and the
projections are strong. With the updated financials,
she has just purchased a new building to house the
business instead of leasing long term. She indicated
this would not have been approved by the banker based
upon her financials from last year.
Quite frankly,
she is quoted as saying, I wouldnt be
in business without the marketing toolkit. It
has made an unbelievable difference in her business
and she knows that she now has the tools to continue
marketing her business effectively. And, just as important,
she has the foundation to continue building effective
marketing that will continue to generate revenues
long-term.
